In Red Wing, Minnesota, voters can cast an absentee ballot either by mail or in person up to 46 days before Election Day. In-person absentee voting is available Monday through Friday during regular business hours at the Goodhue County Government Center, located at 509 West Fifth Street, Red Wing, MN 55066. This location also serves all Goodhue County cities and townships for absentee voting during even years, operating from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voters can request an absentee ballot online or by calling the Goodhue County Elections Division. College students may vote by absentee ballot if their home address is considered their residency but they cannot be present on Election Day.

To apply for an absentee ballot, voters can complete an online application or a paper application. Paper applications can be emailed to GC_Election@goodhuecountymn.gov, faxed to 651-267-4878, or mailed to Goodhue County Elections, 509 W. 5th St., Red Wing, MN 55066. Once a voter receives and fills out their absentee ballot, it can be returned by mail, dropped off at the post office, returned to the County Auditor's Office, or delivered by another person by the deadline. Additionally, voters have the option to enroll as a permanent absentee voter by checking a box on the Voter Registration Application to automatically receive absentee ballot applications for eligible elections. For the 2026 general election in Red Wing, scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, voters can cast absentee ballots from September 18 to November 2. 

For the primary election scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, absentee voting is available from June 26 to August 10.
